MaCs are just too overpriced to start with.
if budget can't buy the dual socket 6cores yet, better stick with Windows based Intel powered CPU.
DiY or pre-order with andz or shout help here.
that should come cheaper but still as Powerful

nahh, i'm not a Mac fan.
besides i'm not a hardcore vfx and editor. i just do it as a sideline so investing on a mac is not my priority. I'll just stick to PC because I can build my rig from down up. Budget friendly in short.

2x4gb would be the best option but 2x2gb would be fine.Proc: Intel i7-2600k (3.4Ghz up to 3.8Ghz) - P 14,037.375 (GI)
Mobo: Asrock Fatal1ty P67 Performance - P P 6,950 (Cool Rigs)
RAM: _______ 4 or 8GB
Casing: _________ P5-6K max.
case there are many to mention but it would depends upon your taste.
VC would be nvidia. i recommend a 2gb 550 5ti. if kaya pa sa imong budget.
depende sa gamit sa PC...i use this setup para negosyo/pamugas... Expensive? NOOOO!!!...after two projects na bawi ra nako ang cost of acquisition...ang expensive nga PC kanang power kaayo nga setup BUT walai return-on-investment...kana bang PC nga sigi lang pagawas kwarta sa bulsa walai pasulod, mao nai mahal
Aww, hinuon sakto ka ana, master but the problem is my business isn't that big as yours. hehehe.
Can you give me an idea of how much that setup costs you and where did you buy the components? i might just reconsider and save my $$$ for that.
BTW, is my proposed setup not that good for the kind of work it will be used for?
Thanks!

payter na kaayo na bro for the purpose, it just need some refinements.is my proposed setup not that good for the kind of work it will be used for?
procie choice is gud..at sub20K , no other procie can stand its way.
you have a great choice of mobo.
as i have posted earlier.. having 4 x 4GB of ram wud not hurt you budget.
have the 2GB GT550ti or FU's GTX295 @ 8k ..u will need its CUDA and VRAM for many Adobe apps like Photoshop and Premier | AfterEffects Rendering specially with CS5 Suite.
these cards are not slouch performers either, and will definitely ease up redraws.
have gud 64MBcache SATA3 | 6gbps HDD for DRIVE C: < bootdisk | having a hybrid HDD or SSD will be better
or a pair of 300GB 64mb cache SATA3 in RAID0
another 64MBcache SATA3 | 6gbps HDD for DRIVE D: < scratchdisk
and another 64MBcache SATA3 | 6gbps HDD for DRIVE E: < ALL Files
and AN ADEQUATE PSU to serve the power juice requirements.
a gud 2 x 24" LED Monitor
and DO NOT FORGET, the aftermarket Cooler like Corsair H50 etc.
and some others are just accessories, including the Casing < this should be 40% aesthetics 60% function so that it will not be too expensive
