How important is thermal paste?

Imagine a piece of sandpaper and that the tops of the grains are the only thing touching a flat surface that might be placed on top of it. If the sandpaper had to transfer heat, it could only do it through the points that were actually touching the surface on top of it (which is the procie). It would have a small surface area compared to what it could have.

This is where thermal paste comes in. The paste coats the surface so all the gaps are filed in and the entire surface transfers heat, not just the points.

A CPU or heatsink die is obviously not as rough, but it's a good illustration of what you are doing by leaving off the paste.

Mau lageh bro.. need jud kaau ang Thermal Paste.. Gamit kaau ang thermal paste.. Kuyaw bya ni maguba ang CPU f wala na Thermal..

regarding sa thermal paste..........ayaw palit og ceramic-based nga thermal paste like artic ceramique,, palit og metal-based, like artic silver,,, why? becoz silver is metal and more conductive than ceramique...............pero naa pa gyud nindot aning silver....ang carbon-based(using diamond powder)........ pero mura wa ta baligya dri................pangita og bsag unsa nga brand basta ang main gud nga ingredients(hehehehehe) is silver or diamond-based thermal paste.

Lahi to gihatag sa imuha bro werty kato tong tag 35 na paste... Ahak ng mga tindera diha sa CDRKing SM, nagpalit ko last time ug katong tag 60 para sa ako P4, katong tag 120 na nanosilver gihatag... hehehehe wala ko nagsaba na di to mao,dugay ako hulat sa linya...

Unsa-on daiy pag apply aning Thermal paste mga sir, e spread ba gyud ni sa HSF and procie? or butangan lang gamay ang HSF and procie?......no idea ko ani kay wala pa man gud ko mag tangtang sa ako mga procies dri-a.....
