    one more inquiry sir cebugdev. i am planning to read the books in this order: C++ primer, thought process, design patterns, windows programming, then direct3d. Will this pattern be fine? though i may only have free time next year for Ill be taking the NLE this december. But, i will be practicing the things I already know.

    yup, ideal na na sequence

    but you can simultaneously learn,

    c++ and windows programming and once,
    or
    c++ and design patterns

    ipauwahi lang jd ang direct3d, u need to understand windows programming first.

    iba't iba talaga ang taste ng mga programmers especially when it comes to books. may mga old books ako noong college. may mga books din kami dito sa office.

    but here's my favorite up to date.

    1. The C++ Standard Library - A Tutorial and Reference.
    2. The C++ Programming Language by Bjarne Stroustrup.
    3. International Standard for C++, ISO/IEC, 1998 (1st edition), 2003 (2nd edition).

    tapos PDF na yung iba like C++ CookBook, Design Patters, STL, and most of the time discussion sa team, mga documentated library from 3rd parties...tapos mga internal trainings and an exciting MSDN magazines sa microsoft I dont know if meron available sa pinas, pero you can try reading online version, monthly.

    like cebugdev said "it takes time" which he mean years!

    i know it takes time hahaha I already did the math hehe. learning is a dynamic process and as long as you continue learning then there is nothing to be worried about.
