i've been a good girl all my life and never have i failed to obey what they want for me, but i am 27 years old now and still i can't go out with my boyfriend alone on trips and vacations! there was this one time my mom chaperoned me & my bf on our date, we had lunch, watched a movie -- the 3 of us! and went home right away at 5 pm !!! i'm almost 30! don't i deserve a little freedom? cguro i'm old enuf nmn sad to take control & be responsible of my actions. i'm not a child anymore, i know what i am doing. oh god, i'm so depressed!

i believe it's unhealthy for a parent to chaperone a 27 year-old daughter to dates.

for me, the solution is to get out of the parental nest. yes, find a place of your own and support yourself. that's your proclamation of independence.

before others react to this, let me just explain that this is a 27 year-old woman and it's high time that she acted like a responsible adult. parents clinging to their children are just prolonging the adolescent phase. my, isn't it the parents' duty to raise their children into becoming full-functioning, responsible adults? unsaon pagka adult nga gi treat man murag bata. i understand parental love and all but in this case, it has rather become unhealthy. adult children who are given the trust to run their lives gain more confidence, and this in turn make them more capable of adult responsibilities.
