I think file system problema ana, basin gi format na gamit mac OS, unya journaled ang file system. Try lang na taud sa Mac OS nga computer. Then backup everthing, then format it sa Mac OS choosing MS-DOS FAT.
then format again sa windows nga PC to NTFS. Copy the files nga naa sa Mac OS using fat32 nga usb Flash drive. After copying the files from MAc OS, insert it to the windows PC then you can transfer it back to your WD Essentials.
Let me know if ok ba ang solution o naglibog ka sa instruction.
basin hugaw imo usb port sa portable drive or sa imo pc,try lang check.
i experience this problem,
sad to say, but your enclosure is fried or the connector...
here what you do open the enclosure,
get the harddisk out, if its sata, used a sata cable and connect it inside your pc, if ide do the same,
just do as if the harddisk is for internal, thats what i did at luckly the harddisk is fine.

if hilom kaayo imo external HDD, Dili jud na cya maikta sa imo cpu kay wala na nagtuyok. Ang connection circuit ra sa ang nadetect sa imo computer.
You should check the connection inside the enclosure like what bolivar said.
