I think you need to read the thread better from the start sir. What we mean that Dracula as a person does exist is Dracula is a name of a person, not a name of a being. Just like Frankenstien is the name of the doctor but not the monster himself. Its like saying, in the popular game and animated feature, Morgana is the name of the woman who is a vampire.
Its like you, you call yourself "wilner"...that is your name (though not real), "Dracula" is also a name of a person. The historical Dracula is a noble who lives in Europe but is long dead. He is famous for his horrible acts against his enemies like impalement. Impalement means sticking a huge stick from the anus and the blunt end comes out from the mouth. Imagine the popular roasted pig (inasal baboy). But if you are saying that Dracula as a vampire, that is a myth. A fictional character created by Bram Stoker in his novel of the same title. In the novel, Bram Stoker presented Dracula as a vampire from Transylvania. That novel became so popular that people gets to erroneously have "Dracula synonymous to vampire". If you are a vampire, you will be called Wilner the Vampire just like the fictional Dracula the Vampire.
This case is similar to Mary Shelley's novel "Frankenstein". The novel also became so popular that people then gets to name odd looking monsters as Frankenstein. But the fact remains that Frankenstein is the name of the doctor who created the monster. The monster himself has no name, thus he is more accurately called Frankenstein's monster.
well explained IceInHell.
people really have this tendency to make certain terms GENERIC. sometimes to the point that later generations already get CONFUSED as to what certain terms really mean.
example: magpa-KODAK = magpa-PICTURE (even if they are using Fuji film. hehehe), ipa- XEROX = PHOTOCOPY, COKS = SOFTDRINK (even if they mean another brand of cola), COLGATE = TOOTHPASTE (again even if they mean another brand)....etc, etc.
hence, the term DRACULA for most people meant VAMPIRE, even though it is actually just a name of a person.
hmmmm okies nicely explained hehehe thanks.....

Its nice to be of help. But I would suggest for people to do much more reading. If you don't have the time (and the interest), at least watch historical movies or movies based from popular literature. Both Bram Stoker's Dracula and Mary Shelley's Frankenstein was already adapted to movies. The latest of which: Dracula starred Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder while Frankenstein starred Irish-born British-actor Kenneth Branagh. Though there are certain changes but I think the movies are helpful in understanding the novels.
now i know who dracula really is...thanks to iceinhell..
Yup.. I have one of the movie titled Dracula: Love Never Dies..The movie is very nice.. i can relate to the situation of Dracula who can't accept the fact that the woman she love had now been gone.. The saddest part is knowing the woman will never be in heaven and that her soul will wander the earth forever.Originally Posted by IceInHeLL

Probably with this idea, the author had come up a story of drinking blood to be immortal since Blood can be consider as "Life".. to gain life, you must drink blood..
kaso lang.. I prefer being a werewolf rather than a vampire.. A shifter when getting angry becomes a werewolf (Lycans).. hehehe.. probably this is the effect of watching movies of vampires vs. werewolf.. I do have lots of collections on DVDs about this type of movies..
Count Vlad the Impaler, or Vlad Dracul (Vlad the Dragon) is real... he is the historical person being based by the fictional character, DRACULA..
Vampires, I cannot trully say if they exist or not... so far I haven't seen one.
Vampires, for me, are not real...
but Vlad Tepes, he's real.
to see is to believe..
