stores provide OFFICIAL RECEIPT because the BIR will tail them
buy and sell merchants cannot always provide receipt because they bought it randomly!
it is GOOD that we fellow istoryan are concern for each other, but try to consider... by DEMANDING an OFFICIAL receipt will sometimes have a problem. Please do understand that not all items that are sold here that don't have any OFFICIAL RECEIPT is a stolen item.

dili tungod walay box, headset, acc ang usa ka unit kinawat na! dili tungod bogo ang namaligya kai d kahibaw mugamit or mag present sa unit kinawat na ang item! Don't be so judgmental, i am speaking for all buy and sell merchants kai igo kaau me aning ALWAYS DEMAND AN OFFICIAL RECEIPT! Kai dili tnang taw mang hipos sa ilang recibo.

u know what, if ur doing ur business in good faith, there's nothing to be alarmed about on this thread. unless ur involved in it, then u have a reason to blow ur top!

if indeed some people don't keep receipts of their items especially mobile phones which cost thousands, then that's a problem they should take into account. and if ur a buy & sell merchant and u practice fair and lawful business, then u shud not buy an item without its official receipt, simple!

all legitimate shops that sell mobile phones always give u official receipt and it's ur right to demand one if they fail to give u one. now, if u look at the receipt, there's a disclaimer there that says, an item if found to be defective can be returned within a week from purchase date and it also has a service and parts warranty for a year. do u think the shop will allow such return of the item if u can't produce an official receipt issued from them when the item was purchased?

    think about it.

I meant no disrespect TS but mao gyud na ang reality sa second hand items.....
they why buy used items from those shops that sell recon items? because i also know that some shops (read: not all) buy stolen items and sell for a lesser price. there are lots of shops that sell brand-new items and why buy from those shops that sell recon?

My in-law bought a nokia express music last december 2010 and it's now unusable. she was tired of having it repaired and even bought a new battery but its battery just went off and never came back to life. she bought it for P1,500. she bought a brand new basic phone which costs less than P2K.

if ur not a businessman, why buy a high-end phone which is recon and even risking of buying a stolen one? what for? buy a brand-new basic phone which enables u to call and text only from legitimate shops. am sure most of us don't use the internet on mobile phone considering the exorbitant cost of doing it.

GOOD ADVICE! but again, there are lots of sellers here are original owners and still have the receipt with them. so buyers, just be sure to ask for it. and to the sellers, to avoid doubt from the part of the buyer, be sure to show the receipt and give it as well, along with a receipt of acknowledgment from u as a seller stating the complete details of the item sold.

i wanted to agree to what you've said... but we are talking reality bites here! we are not alarmed... and nothing is to be alarmed.... not all phones that we bought are from shope! some are indeed purchased sa pawnshops which was as we all know nga some are dli na mag ask asa man ang recibo ani? asa man mga acc ani...

i heartly respect your opinion about this matter! im a seller too and i give personal warranty on our diposed units, it can be returned if there is something wrong about sa unit, xempre sad d sad ta mamaligya ug guba kai lisod na madaot atong name dnhi!

and umm one last thing! ive said it before.... not all people keep their receipts! what if gnahan jud ko aning unita unya way recibo d lng nko paliton? i found it in good condition man sad, unya way recibo d lng nko paliton?.. what f kaila nko ug suki nko ako gpalitan na muhatag jud ug personal warranty?respect lang sad ta sa decisyon sa taw TS!

im not saying that im against you!

    thank you!

No matter what, don't buy stolen items! To avoid risking buying a stolen item, don't buy it without its OFFICIAL RECEIPT unless u personally know the seller.

always take extra effort to ascertain that ur not buying stolen items.

actually the TS has a point here.. all of us have a point.. no one's wrong but I'd like to share my opinion as a buyer and as a seller..

    buyer:

ex. X wants to buy an iPhone.. here's one seller selling his iPhone cheaper than the ones sold in the malls but doesn't have any receipt at all coz the phone's bought outside our country.. there's no doubt that X would buy the cheaper one rather than buy the more expensive unit and get the same item even if X doesn't get any receipt and the doubts of it being stolen, etc... anyway it's X's own RISK buying cellphones with no guaranteed warranty from the seller..

    Seller

ex. Z wants to sell her iphone coz she badly needs money.. for it to be sold fast, Z's going to sell it cheap and without the receipt of course for some reasons.. Z is not really that good of a techy person and doesn't know how to manipulate and tinker her item.. She only knows the basics in operating it.. now, does that mean Z's selling a stolen iphone?
