Wrong. There is a difference between the government and something like iStorya.net. The government has the responsibility to act on complaints against it because it exists to serve the public. You people keep forgetting that iStorya.net is NOT public property, it's a privately owned venue with its own set of house rules, and these house rules ain't the constitution of the Republic of the Philippines.

Let me ask you--do you pay TAXES to iStorya.net?

The internet is a medium, much as "air" is the medium to conduct speech. As thus, like you cannot own "air" you cannot own "the internet". This is perhaps the reason why people keep clamoring about fairness, bias, etc., because they feel they have the "right" to free speech and non-bias in "the internet", and since a place you technically cannot own can be equated to a public place, people tend to see that participating in an internet forum like iStorya.net is a public activity, much like someone exercising free speech at a public plaza (not owned by anybody).

However, here comes the clincher--a specific venue (such as iStorya.net, which requires a server or several servers, which is private property, to run) is something that can be owned. A forum/bulletin board is indeed a venue for discussion. Since a venue can be owned, an internet forum therefore, is private property.
