Im on a strength based program called 5/3/1.
Then don't go all the way down like stopping at a 90 degree angle otherwise you're looking to injure your knees .
ang tuhod dili puwede molapas sa tiil. kuyaw ni ang squats kai taas kaayog possibilidad sa injury kung dili tarong ang porma. mas maayo gali naay spotter.
What I've been told is to squat down as if you are sitting on a chair. In some training vids they actually put a chair that you can sit on.. this is supposed to teach correct technique. As of now I'm not doing squats.. just doing deadlift. I may add squats back when I'm flexible enough cos right now i'm too stiff...
As long as your knees doesn't pass your toes than your knees are completely safe. Going below 90 degrees parallel on the other hand has it's risk. You CAN go below 90 degres or all the way to the ground as some would call ONLY if you keep your back flat. If you can't then you're in for some trouble
