Royal Canin and Science Diet are at par with each other in terms of quaility and performance.
Royal Canin however, is more complicated. It has a pet store variety which is the same as the other dog foods wherein the variety is just puppy, adult and senior. The veterinary nutrition (for healthy pets) which is available only from veterinarians is more detailed- wherein there are different formulations for the different weight ranges, age and level of activity of your dog. Veterinary Nutrition also contains Zeolite, the intensive color formula and a high level of anti-oxidants compared to the pet store variety. Royal Canin also contains hydrolyzed proteins which are easier to digest.
What i like about both is that they have Veterinary Diet (for Royal Canin) and Prescription Diet (for Science Diet) which are specifically formulated for sick pets.
With both brands now available, I can use one in the absence of the other
No more need to panic because of lack of stocks.
