Come to think of it, does the local production of firecrackers contribute a lot to Cebu's economy in terms of jobs and tax revenue?
not really. come to think of it cebu is not known on production of fire crackers. there are more illegal firecracker makers here.

since i was young, my family always buy sacks of firecrackers(judas belts of 1000-2000 rounds, whistle bombs, hotdogs, super lolo, whistle joke, flying types) every christmas and new year, mahug na og tradition and na andan na sa akong pamilya. if this will be implemented, its okay, basta kadtong lang mga kosog kaayo kay its not safe, and i know, some of my relatives and even me na pagan na sa firecrackers even bisag mag safety pa pirmi. kuyaw pod sa sunog.

Then it is high time to shut down those illegal manufacturers of firecrackers and arrest the people behind them.

Agree! Grabeh naa kaayo ang pollution karon then pasamotan pa anang mga pabuto. Hugaw gyud kaayo ang dalan inig human. Mas nindot ang new year kung presko sad ang hangin dili ang pulbora imong ma simhot. Ngano man diay kung i usa nalang like sa ayala or sm or sa barangay ba ron mas nindot pa ang fireworks imong makita dili kanang gamay2x lang.
