With my experience with this kind of manager, pabaya-i lang na siya.
Keep your temper in check and don't talk back.
If you do have to say something, you must make it sound like a suggestion, or a possibility.
You can also make it sound like it was his idea, when you come up with something good.
Lastly, smile always.

Sample Scenario:
Person 1: You girl. I need you to work this out for me. I was to busy the other night (puro gimicks giadtoan)
Person 2: I'm sorry sir, I'm busy myself. Please manage your time.

What I did was, I just let him have his way. Pero if feel nimo nga sobra na jud. Try to tell him to slow down in a nice manner. If dili pa gai mada, adto sa parkinganan, tanawa if naa guard, wala gai bunali ang awto! hahahaha

We actually have a colleague nga kaila ra niya. Feel daw niya nga gi tikasan siya?... when we browse sa uban sites, dili na daw mi ka focus... bla bla bla... but pwerabuyag man mi oi! Even if she's not in the office the whole day, we would always do our duties well! And dili sad mi mag binoang because we respect the company. Hilom raman gani kaayo mi, and mag talk man gani, kadihot ra nya back to work nasad.

Kung buot hunahunaon, she's lucky with us.

Haaay! Mao lagi... usahay dili naman ma dala ug smile oi... Because we know na she's being unfair and she's not checking if she's still in the right place to act/talk. Or if she's choosing the right way of talking to us.

There's always a reason or various reasons why he/she is mean, you may found out about it, then if you already do then just go with the flow, but of course strictly in the professional sense. Mostly in japanese companies they always impose this kind of management, control with an "Iron fist" as they say, and as per their culture they always obey and follow their leader.
