don't generalize politicians, my father is a politician but he died leaving us huge debts.Why? because he helped those in need with his own pockets bec. he could not rely on the govt. for the funding. He is only the head of a barangay pero tanan problema pas an tawon. Even those who could not bury their dead sagubang sa ako amahan.sometimes in the middle of the night we are awakened by knocks on the door asking for medicines bec. the gov't could not provide even the basic needs of the poor. Maybe God has a purpose why he took him away kay human na ia serbisyo but we only knew of the stories unsa kadaghan sa ia natabangan during the wake.ang uban bawion man gud nila ila pag nagasto sa ila election mao mana nga mangita ug paagi makakwarta..If only those who are into govt service are sincere enough dili maglisod ang pilipinas.We have enough funds just wasted on overpass nga wala gibutang on strategic places and projects nga wala gihuman just bec. they could put their name on it...Selfish and greedy politicians daghan kaayo na sila.

Well I salute your Dad for being one of a kind. Hes a real hero. Yeah your right, daghan kaayo mga politicians nga baga kaayo ang wallet, bank accounts ug nawong.

this is a hopeless case, and a pointless topic. ang mga datu, mosamot ka datu, ang pobre, magpadayon, ug mosamot ka pobre. sus Ginoo asa naman ta ibutang ani??

Menzymenz, others might have some experiences and what Nong Bert told me was very saddening. We're not here to discuss about anythingelse but concrete experiences and truth about corruption in our country, and how much are they really making out of projects for infrastructures down to medicine.

ambit lang ni ako ha... i observe sa present administration ron sa cebu capitol morag ilahon man sad tanan. dili ko sure ani peru naa hongihong nga brother of governor running for mayor sa south town and another brother running for third district... kulba sad morag man ilahon sad tingali ang kurakot ana puhon... what i care of asa man sila kuha ug money for camapaign dayon basin sa capitol...

Other things not only elected public official diay ga korakot diay. naa sad mga appointed government heads/employee sa lain2x agency ga kurakot oi... recently nag pa certified ko sa ako TOR sa CHED 100 ask nila ang recibo gi issue kay 40 raman asa kaha to padulong ang 60 no... wala man ko sukli-e. ask ko sa uban nag pa certified mao gihapon 40 ra tatak sa recibo peru 100 ila ask... hehehe klaro kaayo kurakot

Election support comes in sacks of money. I know a politician who only runs (secretly) for office (bisan klaro na nga pildi siya) coz he keeps a few sacks (millions)... he doesn't buy all the money for votes. So business nga walay alkanse.

The people can do their part to end corruption among public officials. In as much as it is one of the gravest problems that we have, we all know that even if the country is doing good in terms of economic progress, we cannot achieve true progress if we have corruption on the side.

I've read in the newspapers about five cabinet officials being investigated by the Ombudsman. Now, that's an indication that even the highest ranking officials should not be saved if they are in to corrupt practices. If you know someone corrupt, you can report it to proper authorities for investigation. The Ombudsman do surveillances to government officials who were reported to be engaged in corrupt practices. This is one way when we can help eradicate corruption.
