making a cigarette 20 a stick is far more effective than this hehehe. plus no rights will be violated. same goes to alcoholic and softdrinks

Gosh! Why didn't they think of that in the past?

I'm sold out on this idea since them being smokers
simply defeats their purpose of being
    instruments of health care providers.

Now, the question is, would this be followed?

    They are suppose to be,
the entities that should admonish everybody not to smoke,
and to be credible they should act what they ought to teach.

I think such is a very good move,
if no other country is doing it now,
then let us be the first and be emulated.
how about people power, who made it very apparent.

this is not stupid actually... but it does cross the line of individual rights.... but then again the welfare of the majority must weigh more than individual rights... this would be too idealistic on the part of PMA but at least they can curtail the number of smoking doctors...

instead of nicotine content, why not put cyanide in cigarettes? LOL

Amen! If I want to kill myself with my smokes as long as no one else gets hurt I have the right to do so.

Sorry, but I think this law is ridiculous because it violates people's individual freedom. Nitukar na sad ang mga self righteous sa Pilipinas! (of course I'm talking about those idiots at the PMA)

your individual rights is limited to the interest of the country

    and it is not absolute

  9. #19
interest of the country? What benefit would a couple of non smoking doctors do to benefit the country? do you think it will convince anyone NOT to smoke.

Ayaw na lang kaha pakan-a ug baboy ang mga doctors to lower people's cholesterol levels.

this has nothing to do with national interest it is more of discrimination why single out one sector of society?

I don't smoke but if people want to smoke let them smoke. Again, as long as it is not in public places because other people also have their right to their health.

agree on this. i quit smoking myself, doctors should be role models themselves.

but on the others side the medical community doesnt wants us to be healthy its bad for their industry ive heard doctors dying from lung cancer, heart attack etc cause of their unhealthy lifestyle I guess no one can dictate someone on their life.
