i don't know if this will work in your case pero ani ako gibuhat ana nga time.

I removed the HDD from the laptop, installed it to another laptop with working CDROM and installed the OS (only) in that laptop. After that, i removed the HDD, placed it back to its original laptop. So, winxp (in my case) was already installed and saved in the HDD. Now, i installed the notebook's drivers using a USB Flashdrive.

Hoe this helps even a bit.

Instead of taking out the HDD drive of your laptop, borrow the CD-ROM drive of your mon's laptop to be used for your laptop. Ibalik lang ang cd-rom sa imo mom's laptop igka human nimo ug install.

I think this is much safe than the HDD method. There is a possibility man gud na dili maka boot ang imo hardisk ika human nimo balhin from your mon's laptop to yours.

    butangi nag windows na karaan.

add windows 98 installer sa hard disk, kanang exe na daan... then connect nimo sa old laptop..

then padagan ka msdos then locate ang 98 installer.. more or less c: or d: rana guro imong partition so its easy to locate.

then locate tong .exe na file...

98 og ME ra man guro maka install via msdos og dali... ambot unsaon pag install anang mga xp via msdos... kay di naman dos based ilang installation interface... pwede guro pero wa pa ko ka try.

anyway, after ma install ang old OS upgrade2x nalang... butangi napud lain installer ang hardisk...

mas maayo butangan nimo daghan windows isntaller imong drive daan

    aron lahos2x kah...

Install Windows XP from MS-DOS (ie. no OS on a new hard drive):

    - copy 2 os win98 and winXP to hdd, separate sila nga folder directory

Run smartdrv.exe from the Win98 directory on the windows 98 (on HDD)
Type cd.. to back up to the root directory

Go To XP folder (on HDD)

Copy the i386 folder to C:\
Go into C:\i386 folder on C: and type winnt.exe to launch the setup from the hard drive.

    i hope it works!!!

    never tried it before!!

bro salamat kaayo sa imong pagreply, i greatly appreciate it, about sa DOS ako ning gisuwayan sauna but pag install nako ug DOS thru desktop dili siya mo install sa partition na hdd ( laptop ) i think tungod USB nakaconect ang enclosure. maka abot bya ko sa specify drive where to install but di lng mo install pag pili nako sa primary volume sa laptop hdd. so i thought na murag ang solution jud kay 2'55 to 3'55 cable converter arun maditso nako sa mobo ug di na thru USB. wala pakoy time iexperiment kay busy kaayo basin mangita nalng kog expert ani ok ra sa ako mubayad bsag 200-350
