Kailangan kag webserver. You need to install a webserver and php. Naay XAMPP which has apache, php, perl, and mysql in one package. Did you even read the first reply on this thread? XAMPP was already mentioned sa first reply palang.

Are you really serious that you will be using php for that project? I just want to give a note that php is not good for large projects. It consumes much CPU and memory resources, and might cause several memory leaks. PHP does not have a good garbage collector. Well if you have faster CPUs and bigger memories. You have the options to use Ruby(with ROR) or Python(with Django)....just an advice...

HTML and PHP, They are totally different. HTML is mark-up language while PHP is programming language.

I'd like to know if naa kay background sa mga programming language like C, C++, Java, C#, Visual Basic, and etc...

If naa kay background sa mga programming language, learning PHP is easy...

ayaw lang kaayo pagdali. listen pud sa gisulti sa mga tawo diri. hehehe.

na mention na diri nga html is not like php. browsers (like firefox) understand html. mao na if magbuhat ka ug html file with html markups inside, ma render na sa imo browser. bisan local (desktop) file pa na imo gibuhat. browsers however does not understand php. that's why when you tried to open a php file, firefox prompted you to choose an external program that will open the file for you because firefox itself does not understand it. some browsers might open your file but render it as plain text. you'll see your php code listed. not the "output" of your php code.

the thing that you are trying to do, which as of yet you don't know or understand, is to write php code to output html. you may not understand what i'm saying but this is what you're trying to accomplish. so unsaon man nimo pag practice? install xampp & "deploy" you php codes into the "document root". na mention napud na diri... welcome to the wonderful world of server-side programming/scripting. bisan naa ra na gadagan sa imo desktop ang xampp

about the editor, i dunno unsa fave sa mga php devs diri but i second that vi recommendation. at least in your case wala pa kaau kay i-unlearn. i use emacs for coding myself but get to use vi just about daily though not for coding.
