Both Canon and Nikon's are great DSLR's

I use a Nikon and my opinion if your starting out and have that budget then go for a Nikon d90, it should help alleviate any lens incompatibility on a starter scale.

wlay ni suggest ug canon? hehehe voting for 450d pasok sa budget naa pakay extra for accessories... if mabinat gamay imo budget 550d...
