naay ko boston na heavy metal.. sounds fine for me na after naay koy isa ka capacitor nga gi tang2x.. medjo warmer na iyang tingog. if naa lang jd spare money, id go for the boutique/branded pedals..
@burnfinger: hehehe, nka learn sd d i ka ug lesson, pariha nata, lami na pakongon atong BOSTON nga pedal, bwahahaha!
Boston pedals are quite o.k mn... Its on the players fingers that matters the most.. I forgot the name of the band that won the REDhourse miziklaban a couple of years ago, maybe the guitarist is struggling financially but hey their guitarist uses a lot of boston pedals. I wonder how those filthy rich kids looks like when they saw the set up of the guitarist on that band.. To much of this and those and blah3x on gadgets.. All u really just need is a toneful fingers, proper phrasing on notes, descent guitar pickups and amps and throw some descent pedal ("boston is a good one") then ure good to go... I know some of the guys here owns a lot of so called "boutique" gadgets but only a handful can really do its justice to their equipment,,, When I'm starting out i only had a LAZER Heavy metal dist. pedal for 6 years and without bragging i can play most of LOG and megadeth on that pedal.. Imagine how delighted am I when I got the Mt-2 and a DIMARZIO super deist P.U even though others may think mt-2 is a piece of crap pedal.. To the compliment of my listeners Its a tonal beast... Bottom line is.. Train your fingers to sound good on a descent pedal then after that usa paka mo upgrade if its needed na jud.. not the other way around.. By the way my rhythm guitarist plays the boston HM model and he just rips the maggot out of your ,,,,TALENT>AMPS>GUITAR/P.U>GADGETS
hmmm...you have your own say bro...everyone has their own preference...if you're contented with using boston and lazer pedals then good for you...one thing is for sure though, the guys here that own what you labeled "so called botique pedals" did not buy those pedals if they hadn't gone through a lot of gear changes...I happen to be one of many botique pedal owners here and i can assure you that LAZER and BOSTON pedals are no where near the quality that you get from these pedals...oh and yeah, the stock metalzone IS a piece of crap...

@ TS - ok to advice ni PGM if dirt much better to try boutiques thu wala ko boutique nga dirtbut i've tested some boutique dirt pedals. currently my favorite dirt as of now is the stock SD-1 (mine is the 1989 SD-1) and still wanting to have more SD-1s
.
nakagamit nako ana imo giingon nga DD-100 sa boston, dili kaayo ko ganahan tungod sa kadaghan sa modes, i prefer the simplicity versatility of DD-3.
BTW naa ko gi-PM nimo

I get your point sir... Boutique pedals can really deliver a tonal carnage in the ears of the listeners.. There's really no competition or what so ever with this LAZER and Boston pedals to a boutique one and only a fool would argue..And yeah if you have a load of cash go get those boutique but make sure that you do your justice with it co'z its a funny thing to say that a lot of the great players here in cebu don't really use much of these boutiques and they rules.. For the guys that disses boss dirt? dude wake up dirt pedals will only shine if you have the fingers, proper amp and guitar good P.U, if you can't sound good on a DS-1 pedal then probably you're playing is CRAP..I really can't stand people dissing BOSS..there a descent pedal. as an example Steve Vai and Joe Sat uses DS-1,Cobain uses DS-1 And DS-2, Furciante keeps his DS-2. They can be a bit nassal and its part of their character but sure they can deliver the dirt..Cannibal Corpse can have those ENGL and the Boogies but 4 the info. those guys uses STOCK MT-2 one time or another how about that.. the problem is a lot of guys doesnt' really understand how to use a dist. Using a hard rock designed dirt for metal is total crap and so is the other way around..Local Band Fast pitch guitarist uses an MT-2 Im not a big fan of them but their guitarist really knows how to tame the mt-2. Naa rajud na sa pag timpla.. After all tone is a subjective matter to everyone...Buttom line is BOSTON and BOSS dirt pedals will do the job if you know the how's...I totally agree that boss is an ace when it comes to modulation and delays.. That's what there known for from the very start, with their dd-2 and the CE-2 and if you have them then you're keeping a jewel. AND YEAH as of now I'm gunning for the EMA PISDIYAUWOT or the the BlackSTAR DistX .. Para maiba napud...
