IMHO, im not impressed with I3 530 + ECS P55H. overall performance d nako ma differentiate compared to similar speed, similarly priced PII setup. dont know where the new I3 features helps, especially if gaming was the purpose of the system. although maybe it is because of the motherboard(low performance board?)
and btw, unsa klaro na normal temps aning i3? TjMax reports it about 58-60degC normal operations and a whooping 70 if full load. Speedfan reads differently @ 40degC normal. this was designed for much lower operating temps, right?
what particular procie u mean?
comparison will be very broad citing that both camp have a lot of offerings..
in cores | cache | Speed | Powerdraw | lithography | etc.
in any category except for the price, amd have not yet level the intel procies, may it be in single | dual | quads | Hexas performance.
its the reason, the price was included in post.
another sample:
Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 - 2.93GHz - 3MB L2 : PhP5890
Intel Core i3 530 - 2.93GHz - 512KB L2 - 4MB L3 : PhP6210
AMD Phenom II X3 720 - 2.8GHz - 1.5MB L2 - 6MB L3 : PhP6640

Intel E7500 (2.93G) 3mb 1066fsb C2D < Phenom II X3 720 (2.8G) 6mb black ed < Intel Core i3 530 - 2.93GHz - 512KB L2 - 4MB L3
@ werty..yeah.
it cud be the board.
it be changed to this : MSI H55M-E33 H55 V/ddr3/hdmi/GL/S @ Php 5,350.00
the specs can be adjusted though.
he can have just 2GB of RAM +
Intel E5400 (2.7G) 2mb 800FSB PDC : PhP 3460 pcx | 3,050.00 GIC
Athlon II X2 250 (3.0G) 2mb AM3 : PhP 3560 PCX | 3350 APPS
AMD Athlon II X2 255 - 3.1GHz - 2MB L2 vc. Intel Pentium E5300 - 2.60GHz - 2MB L2
Bench - CPU - AnandTech :: Your Source for Hardware Analysis and News
the charts have it... the x2 255 ( which is faster then the Athlon II X2 250 (3.0G) 2mb AM3 ) is al most same as the e5300 ( but we are pitting the Intel Pentium Dual-Core E5400 (2.7) : 3,050.00 as part of the multiple choice, which is faster than the e5300 )
CONCLUSION:
Athlon II X2 250 (3.0G) 2mb AM3 < AMD Athlon II X2 255 - 3.1GHz - 2MB L2 +/=/- Intel Pentium E5300 - 2.60GHz - 2MB L2< Intel E5400 (2.7G) 2mb 800FSB PDC
go INTEL.it's a more practical and wiser choice

@butitoy
Sir, nag libog nani ang TS, kay imo gi pang post comparison sa mga proce...hes asking for gaming pc... not comparisons... ahehehe...
aw ka daghan ninyog idea about unit prices etc.
just remember this BlackTrax:
any brand will do, 2G of memory is enough for ram, higher than that; YOUR WASTING MONEY!
focus in Good quality Video Cards! Period...
wrong..
there is a thing called performance.
that is why everything starts with a good processor thats BANG for BUCK.
and simply put..any brand would not mean pentium4 or celeron D.
its not a waste of money if you are capable of buying it for specific purpose.
CPU 0NLY
if u want the best
invest on intel

comparison are posted to help the TS orient himself of the processors.
give man a fish, and will eat for a meal
teach man how to fish, and he will eat at his catch.
about ani nga post....
what if i will use my RIG on 3d animation and editing? will 2GB be enough? lol... maybe your a one track mind person. 2GB on a 32bit OS, then using your RIG on games only.
Good Quality Video Card? is this useful if im only playing yahoo games? lol....
we post/reply on the TS to give options. coz hes asking for it.
cooldown sis..
you are right.
every Computer job needs a specific Computer set
definitely, one would need an Intel Core 2 DUO E4700 (2.6 GHz) / AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ | nVidia GeForce 7800 / ATI Radeon X1800 for prototype game as performance requirement.
and the old p4 will not suffice as a rig for it.
and thats just one of the multi-thousand variations each and everyone would want to do with their pc..
and believe me..
there are ELITES HERE that uses 6cores proc + Crossfire | SLI + 6GB
rigs that's worth more than 1ook and they are not wasting their money
@butz, chill rako woe...ahehehehe
Your not wasting money as long as your happy with it. + as long as you can use it to its max
