For me, the gist is: Don't work for money, let money work for you. How? Read the book.

Seems interesting. Mind sharing the general concept of the author and it's main arguments? I don't think I'll have the time to read this one soon. Just started Grisham's The Innocent Man.
its basically a book on the reason why even if you are the most hard working person in the world, your still in debt, and not financially free aka doesnt need to work for money. It has other things to emphasize like about the current educational system, as well as good spending habits and planning.Originally Posted by IceInHeLL

in the book, kiyosaki tries to simplify financial language, hence we have:
asset = a thing that puts money into your pocket
liability = a thing that takes money out of your pocket (and he considers a house a liability)
the 4 quadrants:
employed = working for someone else
self-employed = working for yourself
in business = having people work for you
investor = either as an outside investor or insider investor (the ultimate investor)
therefore, he encourages us to:
*buy assets instead of liabilities
*switch quadrants (if the timing is right)
hope that helps
