Ask youself lang what will you do with 6 cores and 12 threads. Going 1156 is not alang2x for me. Core i7 6C/12T is for enlarging your e-p e n i s. I do heavy stuff with a PC including multiple virtual machines, photo editing, video editing, compiling huge VS2008 projects and running multiple SQL server databases. A quad core (Q6600 class) is more than enough for me and maybe 8gb RAM.

About old IT hardware and new IT hardware, its all about efficiency now. Global warming FTL.

Agree, you don't need the 6 Cores 12 Thread now or in the near future. Bisan man gani ang i5 man gani is more than enough to handle basic operations and multi tasking while gaming. Though mas maayo jud ang 1366 kung Multi GPUs ang hisgutan kay X16, X16 man compared sa P55 mobos, then ang triple channel na feature...

Not all games kay mu utilize og 4 cores so i can say na imung is E8400 kay tabla ra sa Q9550 kung games hisgutan. I can say that because i had an E8400, Q9550 and i5 before..

Uu bai mao lageh. I tried SLI in a P55 mobo and its damn fast even at X8 X8. I decided to take it out kay the heat is amazing, murag oven akong kwarto bisan mag aircon paka.

Bottom point: Get a processor + mobo + RAM + good and fast GPU for your needs. Spend the money you will save from avoiding expensive hardware to something else like a huge monitor or some kick a$$ sound system.

KAni nalang bro Asus P7P55D. As always rock solid ning asus by just looking at the design only 8.2k sa tpc.
If you wanna upgrade go ahead Im sure the i5 setup would be future proof and can even compare with i7 even if it has triple channel. Pass lang sa Q9550 not much benifit.

wait gamai nalang...kung mo upgrade man gani ka...go for Core i7 1366 nalang...ayaw nalang ug alang2x anang i5 or Q9550...para walai mahai & what ifs...performance-wise payter kaayo ang 6cores/12threads(or 4cores/8threads) & triple channel memory config sa i7...upgrade nalang daan karon sa imong power supply

for me mas ok if ditso 1366 oi, naa man cheap 1366 mobo, para walay alang alang
kana if pareha ka nako nga need og dako kaayong memory, if four dimm slot ra akoa mobo ma stuck ra ko sa 8gb nga memory, mahal kaayo ang single 4gb memory stick d ko ka afford, but if mga 1366 ko maka 12gb ko ehehehe

if dili wait gamay sa amd thuban 6 core kana fighter na siya siyaro hehehe
