I third this suggestion. We actually processed our own application and got the go signal from the Central Intake Office to proceed to the next step (embassy interview). Unfortunately, we had a change of plans/priorities so we decided not to continue.

Our point: If you are educated and if you are focused about the application, you can really wing your way. We're proud to say we got a response a month or two after we filed our application. We have acquaintances who paid 60k for an agency to do the paperwork for them at a much earlier date, but na-una pa ang among response.

One more thing, when we decided to withdraw our immigrant application, the embassy was quick to inform us that a full refund of our application fees is being processed. Had we coursed the paperwork through an agency, it's highly likely that the money is good as gone.

We don't know if there are actually any truly "reputable" agencies out there. Those listed by the POEA kay mu-attempt pa man gali ug pangilad, but that's another story.

    For New Zealand.

I can give a little advise. hehehe

Try to lodge an EOI or what they call Expression of Interest.
you need to complete the application form and wait for the pooling.
Immigration officer will then check your qualification if your skills belongs in the
    Skilled Migrant Category.

    More info you can read:
    Immigration New Zealand

Also there is a new Application in New Zealand
The online application form will become available on 27 April 2010

they called it Silver Fern, check the link below.
    Silver Fern Policies

    Hope this help.

I've heard of Golden Summit too, they have sent a lot of cebuanos to NZ. Why don't u check out their website.
y? dont you trust yourself regarding following instructions? or complying the requirements needed? do u really need a 3rd party to sit beside you to dictate what and how to write it down?

agencies/consultation firms wont be there when u lodge ur application? ang role nila ky mura ra gyud ug ikaw pero di lang ikaw ang nibuhat. so why pay a great amount when u can do it yourself?

Doing it yourself sis is not free. You need to mail your application overseas. If there is the smallest of discrepancy, it will be sent back to you and you will need to send it back again. How do you plan to do your document authentication? It requires flying to Manila and processing it for at least 2 weeks.

Doing it yourself is your option but not everyone is as blessed with doing it on their own. Agents are there for people who do not have the same level of confidence. Its like getting a tutor for school. Others may think its stupid since its redundant to going to school but others need more help and require tutorials.

Check this out if you have doubts...

    http://www.iaa.govt.nz/adviser-register/201000080.htm

Based on this, they are the only registered immigration consultant by New Zealand Standards (goes beyond POEA) in Cebu.
