Just found the article interesting. I can catch up with the technicalities. Hehe.
If the article is true that these cards have 10% manufacturing yields. This is very problematic. Not even feasible to manufacture. Stocks would be very limited most likely they'd release the card for Propaganda purposes. ATI is currently at 90%+ yields.
It would be better for Nvidia to Delay the product even more and to fix their manufacturing problems than loose tons of money producing a very expensive and defective product.
The article says that it would be about 6 mos or more to fix the problem by that time a feasible fermi would be mass produced shrinked to 32nm and solved all the problems and dubbed as fermi 2.

here is a more reliable article... mentioning the GTX 470 at 650mhz, and not quite dominating against the 5850 and 5870....
