I personally wouldn't want to take a picture with something as big as this.

Who honestly wants to multitask while say, browsing pics or watching a movie? Again, this is a product meant for entertainment NOT productivity. If you want to be productive, buy a true computer. Similarly, if you want to take pictures, buy a camera.

People totally miss the point of why this product is unique. The Lisa ( Apple Lisa - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia ) was unique too, but people didn't understand why such a device was needed when it was first created (the Lisa enabled Apple to troubleshoot design issues with the GUI and thus paving the way for the creation of the Mac). Like I have been saying, people tend to be shortsighted, and it seems only those with enough insight and a little bit of design and engineering background can totally comprehend and appreciate the attention it took to create such a product, and its potentials.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, the iPad, rumored name "iSlate", is Apple's crack at the tablet market. Given that fact, I'm simply pointing out that this is nothing near what I personally am looking in a tablet (and check the internet's feedback to know that most think the same way as well).

I might not have an engineering or design background but I know what I am looking for in a device, in this case a tablet, and again, this is not it.

Ikaw bai? Murag naa man ka background sa design/engineering, if you were looking for a tablet, would you rather buy this rather than a Lenovo Ideapad s10-3t? Better yet, can you enlighten us on the best way to use this $500 device?

And what's "The Lisa" anyway? Or wait, are you trying to point out the potential of this device that's why you appreciate it? Because if you are, then we are not on the same boat since I am not here to shop for "potentially" great products with my $500.

I personally don't think Apple was seriously thinking of competing in any "standard tablet" market--if you look at Jobs' presentation, they basically wanted to fill the void between the iPhone and the MacBook. And that's basically with this thing is. And again, it's prime purpose is for home/entertainment/personal use--from the outset, there is no indication that Apple intended this device as a "productivity tool". Like, since when did the iPod got categorized as a productivity tool?

I honestly do not think that my response to your comment blatantly trumpets "Buy this potentially great product"...I don't own any Apple products myself, and I'm basically a PC/Windows guy. But I'm just trying to point out some key points as to why some people (and perhaps this is where I failed, by quoting YOUR post, you became defensive in that you felt I was referring to you as belonging to this "people" group) think the iPad is a bad/incomplete/worthless product.

daghan na biya pud ni-gawas nga ingon ani sa market... windows 7 pa ang OS, unlike this nga iphone OS ang gigamit...

This would have been an instant hit if it ran Mac OS....

I think it's still going to sell well due to the relatively "affordable" price for a Mac product.

I'm still on the fence between this and a full fledged Macbook Pro... price is a big consideration also...
