if you're healing a chapped lips you apply it whenever you feel lips are dry or apply it often till it heals, actually there's no general rule like me i'm addicted to lipbalms. n BTw when i had that condition like yours my derma suggested to me to use the vaseline lip therapy petroleum jelly the one in tubelike, its available in all drugstores n all stores beauty counter n grocery.

I use Carmex whenever I'm out. When I feel like my lips are starting to get flaky, I apply a few swipes and my lips start feeling soft and smooth again. I bought my tube of Carmex in Metro Ayala, either in their pharmacy (near the supermarket) or in their cosmetics section.

I use petroleum jelly every night, after I brush my teeth and before I go to bed. It's highly glossy. Much as I like to use it every time I go out, I can't since it's super shiny and does not enhance the look of my lips at all. HAHA. But petroleum jelly is very effective for me. I smear quite a lot of it on my lips, and when I wake up, my lips are still soft, smooth, and shiny. Highly recommended for severely chapped lips.

I have tried other brands of lip balms, but only the two mentioned above have worked best for me.
