Based on your itinerary, you'll be skipping the really "kuyaw" areas, so you don't really have to worry about anything (unless the MILF decides to harrass Lanao del Norte again--you will pass that area from Zambo to CDO, it's about halfway on your route).

ok na ni imong itenerary. mas mau jud kung imong i via air ang zamboanga kay lau kau kung imong i by land, mas safe pa jud... i dont know lang if naay air route from zambo to gensan, i suggest cebu-zambo via air, then zambo-cdo via air (if available), then cdo-davao land trip via bukidnon/buda (5-6 hours), then davao-gensan land trip (2-3 hours)

good luck and happy trip ^_^

I take that route regularly (my dad lives in Koronadal), it's not that bad, compared during the days when the road from CDO-Tacurong was still largely unpaved. Karon aspalto and concrete na most of the way, so pretty much okay.

Taga Davao man ko. Mao ni ako tips:

    (1) Avoid taking CDO-Zambo bus. Dugay kaayo, kapoy ug usahay risky.

    (2) Get a travel agent para maka-book sa imo intra-Mindanao flights. If I remember correctly, naay Zambo-Davao and Davao-CDO flights karon. So pwede ka Cebu-Zambo and then Zambo-Davao.

    (3) Safe routes by bus dinhi: Davao to Gensan (average 3 hours by bus) and Davao to CDO via Bukidnon (average 6-7 hours by bus).

Avoid the rest of the bus routes kung first timer ka.

    Good luck and enjoy Mindanao!
