the question here is the lack of standardization, I just wonder how android app developers can develop apps compatible to different cellphone brands. Because its highly unlikely for motorola, samsung and Nokia to develop identical phone models. So there will be hardware differences. So there must be app incompatibilities.

I have to agree with you bai.

Some android devices are using 480x240 screen res. Some 800x400. Some use netbooks. There is no uniform hardware platform to run on. And worse still is that some companies made their own app store. It's crazy. Developers are spread too thin making the android platform that much more unattractive for them. In contrast the iPhone AppStore is focused to one device only (the only advantage of a closed system). And only minor hardware updates in the span of 12 months. So naturally, developers flock the iPhone AppStore - growing the app catalog. Reducing the prices even of said app even lower. Alot of indie developers are raking thousand of dollars for their hit $0.99 app. Imagine $0.99 only for a great app that would probably cost $10 on Windows Mobile or Symbian. From the $0.99 only 30% of that goes to the developer 70% goes to Apple. But Millions of people are buying so that $0.99 x 30% x millions = ALOT OF MONEY! I also read a post by one iPhone dev (I think it was AteBits) who received a new MacPro, iPhone and iPod touch from Apple for their appreciation. Then a few days later said developer already purchased a home. After renting an apartment he was able to buy a new home - thanks to developing for the iPhone.

So really the iPhone appstore is practically a gold mine for developers.

As long as google voice wont be standardize all over the world, we wont enjoy nexus as much as you enjoy ordinary anroid or windows mobile phones.
