there's a ring light & there's also a ring flash. two different things but their name is used interchangeably. just want to point that out.

a ring flash generates a ring shape light... in short without the sentence modifier... it's a ring light. if we were supposed to develop a divergence between the two then it's probably the size and their usage. peace and merry christmas!

i think i don't no need to iterate another reciprocation. well, if you find it too inscrutable then the best thing to do is buy one so you can experience it and determine its distinction personally.

at what point in my post in this thread that makes you say "inscrutable" on my part. that's so presumptuous on your part when i was just making a distinction on the means to hopefully add knowledge to the TS on the subject. clearly i know what ring light is all about. there is just this about people that they really have to say something.

lol, i'll make a pass. i'm recalling (lol again) mark twain's quote.... never mind, my better wisdom taught me so. i have no idea why you're jumping on me, as a matter of fact i'm an admirer of your works here more so in the macro thread, inpirational even. it's a disappointment you have relegated yourself to such attitude when you're looked up to here by a lot of newbies including me.

back on topic, reading back my posts just to make sure, i still don't know which part i said wrong about ring lights that made you replied as you did. maybe, you're referring to the ring light as a "light" (which i have no objection at all coz i recognized it) & i am referring 'ring light' as to source/equipment. that's most likely it, i'm not disagreeing any of what you've said as you can see and i don't see also where my posts opposed to yours. that's why i'm scratching my head why you're throwing tantrums on my way .

by words you make a pass but if you try to read again your post, you still leave a trace that makes me look like i'm now the one who commit such indecent behavior.

ring flash adapters ex. orbis, rayflash, ebay ringflash (those in pixelpro)

but in the end, they pretty much do the same thing.. create ring-shaped light sources, they only differ in size, power and how you intend to use them
