    Pag sure oi!
3 ra mi kabouk sa isa ka groupo,
dili kaau practical if mangita mig dako
kaau nga project kay kami ra japon magsuffer.

Anyways naa koy idea pero dili ko
    sure if mupasa ba ni:

    >"Chat translator"

example ako makigchat ko ug foreigner pero magbisaya ko,
ang software na bahala ug translate arun ang marecieve nga
message sa foreigner kay english and vice versa, ang marecieve
naku nga tubag gikan sa foreigner, naka translate na in bisaya.
(Lisod ani kay correct sentence pattern and grammar, medyo lahi baya ang bisaya nga language
    structure sa english.)

Mupasar kaha ni? What dya think?
Kung naa pamu lai ideas, palihug ug share.
Kung daghan ko mapasa nga proposal,
mas daku ang chance nga maka jack pot mi.
    Daghan salamat!

Your CS students right? Not IT? Yup, you can have that kind of Project. Actually its a typical NLP (Natural Language Processing) undertaking. However, the challenge there is to get enough grammar structure review of the Bisaya language considering that we don't have much formal content (notes/ Lessons) on it. Honestly building the NLP engine for Bisaya to English (and vice versa) is no joke . But what you can do is limit your project to simple Bisaya sentences and vice versa with English, like for example, limiting it to Active Voice sentence format (subject is the doer of the action). With that, you have a controlled environment when doing the translation/ conversion.

I think dako ra kaayo inyo scope, but considering na 3 mo, well ma justify siguro. Ang problem ana kay maghimo pa kag knowledge base and or syntax. Knowlege base i.e imo dictionary. we had that as our Special project or Thesis, but the scope isnt that big since gi buak2x man namo into modules. I think naay expert ana na field try approaching the head of CS sa UP, si DR. R.
