also you could consider a Geforce Quadro.
first of all its Athlon64 and Athlon XP dont mix it =)
    secondly quadro is over rated.

go for whatever matches your budget. squeeze out the maximum for ur money. trust me. you will replace your setup in 8-10 months time (if you are really in the business of video editing and rendering) atleast 8-10 months from now. the stuff you cant afford today will be much less cheaper by that time.

the setup i have now is athlon64 3000+ epox nf4 chipset , 1 gigabyte RAM, a crappy inno3d 6600 vcard, 3x200G SATA HD, a partialy busted DVD-RW (can write but not read dvd), crappy onboard sound, and envision 19 inch LCD.

.. just make sure ur board supports pcie vcards, a good amount of ram "slots", sata and ide ports, LARGE RAM, and a fast HD.

.. and after 8 months time maybe you can buy those l333t graphics cards, upgrade ur memory to maybe 4 Gigabytes. and split ur "system" HD from your "workspace" HD (which will most probably increase performance)

need i also point out a good back up system if something goes awry?

data in business costs more than any high-end pc on the market.

His just starting out so he wont be doing that much of a harddrive crunching.
But when his biz picks-up he will need those RAID arrays for faster and safer storage.

hmm... 25-30K for upgrade? business use? well, go for good processor 2.8ghz++ pentium or 3200amd... most likely that would include a new mobo plus... at least 1gig of ram. ^_^

in this case, an amd would be better as long as you buy a upgrade for heatsink and fan with proper airflow of the case.

video card will vary depending on use depending on the programs you use... that's basically it ^_^

How about considering a Pentium D 805 instead of A64 3200?.. its cheaper and itl do a faster job of exporting your videos.

Unsa imong gamit pag capture? Firewire or S-Video/Composite?... Pun-i sad imong ram since ur gna be dealing with huge files.

    Just my 2 cents...

im still planning pa to study Video Editing (pero dili ingon nga extensive kaayo) and 3D Max... pero i'll be using more Photoshop 7 (dili lang CS k basin nya bug-at) Illustrator CS, and HTML Integration using Dreamweaver..

para na sa whole PC ang akong budget.. dili lang ingon pra sa CPU..

thanks sa inyong mga comments & suggestions
