moulting process is the most crucial period sa life sa tarantula...maski mites pwede cla patayun ani na period...di jud ni cla ka sukol..

for me....moving your t after moult(kanang palakawun nimo cla) is not advisable..the reason is...humok pa kaayo na cla...na kng tanawun nimo is maglisud pa cla lakaw. this is because of their new size and basa pa ilaha skin na kinanlan pa nila i stretch to adjust later... so wat will happen if u're going to force them to move...mapugos pud cla ug lihok w/c is kusog kaayo na mura nila pugson ug lakaw...maski gamay ra na sangit maski sa bato..pwede na maka putol or injure the t as well...

so lets give a day or two...para i move nato cla or i rehouse bah if kailngan.

its better pud na, if u observed ur t is in pre moult na jud...start misting your substrate esp sa sling...moisture and humidity can help the t for faster shredding...hehehe....

after sa moult, ayaw na i mist imo enclo(substrate) arun paspas pud mu gahi ang new skin(exu) sa imo t.
just put lng a water dish. if slings..maski bas-on ra nimo ang water dish gamay by spraying on it...

mas maayu jd kung naa sa burrow or na sa dark place imo sling nag molt....remember: "a tarantula in the dark is a happy tarantula" hehehehehe....

well said mga sir.. moulting is very crucial stage sa ato mga T's so kong ka kita mo nga nag molt inyo T's leave it be or kong curious dyud kaaU, hinay2x lang pag open sa enclo haron dili mo igput while its shedding its exo. always keep them in the dark side of your room or if you have a T room you can minimize the lightings in it, like what ken said "a tarantula in the dark is a happy tarantula" thats true. i kept mine covered with cloth to simulate darkness while they are in there burrows coz mabaw ra ang ako substrate will except sa ako Rosea which is in a premoult stage right now.. anyways just be cautious and take good care of your T's. you dont want your money to be found in the garbage or in a enclosure for preservation... hehehehe!!!

disturbing your T while molting is a BIG NO! NO!

I even turn off the lights when I see any of my Ts molting. dilig gyud nako hilabtan ang enclosure once they are molting and sometimes, I only take photos once i'm really sure nakagawas na sila sa ilang exuvium.

newly molted arachnids, insects or crustaceans are very soft and delicate. just as bro zel explained above, their new skin and body are still very delicate and soft.

share lang nko ako encounter with a newly molted beach crab about the size of my hand several years ago. wala ko kabalo na nag molt diay siya, i simply grabbed the poor crab, and lo and behold, the entire crab felt like i just grabbed a wet fresh lumpia (the one that comes with a very soft wrapper). nilusot gyud ako fingers sa iyang carapace. now, if something that big is really that soft right after molting....unsa na lang ang Tarantulas?! especially the slings.

here are some reasons of "bad moulting"....

1. your t might be stressed out before sya mu moult..
(basin sa cge nimo tarug sa enclo niya, na disturbed jud sya.
or basin maski pre moult na sya gi suwayan pa ghapon nimo pakaon na mao na naka pa stressed niya)
sometimes powerfeed will turn a t(esp. slings) to be obese na dako na kaayo iya tiyan.w/c sometimes
leads a t for bad moult...ngano?...maglisud sya hayang kay bug-at ug dako na kaayo sya...so mao
sometimes mag barug ra sya moult..

2. another is the substrate(subs too dry)....as wat ihave said, i believe kng basa imo subs, this will help /keep the humidity high, para sayun ra mu shred imo t..


3. also,sa set up sa imo enclo and sa position sa imo t pag hayang niya...basin pud sa cge niya push sa iyaha exu, nahulog sya or na stuck sa kilig na mag lisod na sya ug gawas...it happened to some of my Ts(esp. arboreals) where my obt nag moult sa taas...and while on the process, nahulog sya dapit sa kilid na napiit sya wall and sa bark...so wa jud sya kagawas...na deads jud...
