EDSA I should not be remembered only as to the ouster aspect. The most important thing in that historic event is the unity shown by the Filipino people in defeating the dictator and in restoring democracy for this country. Unity is the lesson of EDSA I, not just the ouster.

Remembering EDSA I is remembering that unity is necessary in times of hardship. Unity is necessary these days to survive any effects of the crisis. Unity is not necessary these times for an ouster because the welfare of the people is more important than any political matter.

spineless government? - I couldn't agree more. But choosing the dictator would not be an option. Suppression and violence should never be a way of life.

Greatest leader? - he was indeed regarded as the greatest, at the same time the worst. He's the only one with a vision and the backbone to materialize the vision. But the course of materializing it is the one we can question.

Edsa1 - a memorable event in our history.
The problem is that it was considered a revolution. It is not. It may be a step to the thousands we should still take before a real revolution.

Feudal lords are still feudal lords.
    and this society worship them.

    a pity

    Default EDSA - "PEOPLE" power

D ko sure naa na ba ingon ani nga topic saona. Or kung naa ba ni sa sakto nga section nako gibutang.

As Cebuanos, do you really believe or understand the very publicized EDSA revolution of '85?

I have seen this clip NINOY + PEOPLE POWER: Hidden Truths The MEDIA is NOT Telling Us! - YouTube it really stirs a lot of feelings.

The "People" power as we know it happened in the "upper" metro. Media were publicizing how many "millions" joined that demonstration. But what were the other provinces doing during that time?

    Any thoughts?

Wow! I'm glad you posted this TS! This is a proof that Florigaga's Post against Ninoy is correct! That the Black Propaganda everybody thought about Ninoy was actually, a fact!

That Ninoy's heroism, is a plot! It's scripted! Liman kang mu-uli siyas Pilipinas, knowing there is an attempt to assasinate him! Bang! Yataps lageh

I haven't read Florigaga's post. I have nothing against Ninoy's "heroim". What my contention is how media is idolizing him. "people" power was not people power at all. No media coverage around the other provinces. Unless someone can prove my ignorance wrong. This compared to the people power of ERAP where many from different provinces united to bring him down. sadly it didn't matter, he was pardoned anyway.
