The difference is what we call systemification.. POISON if the agent irritates / stimulates upon contact
(skin, gut, buccal). VENOMOUS if the agent irritates / stimulates upon contact with the bloodstream..
POISON if its made / byproduct of secondary or tertiary agents (like bacteria, fungi) ie. Komodo dragon's bite is POISONOUS because of the bacteria living in its salivae..
VENOMOUS are made interally, within the animal, ie. Tarantula's venom are made and stored in their poinso-sacs and injected to their prey by large hypodermic like fangs..
