Like dili nalang siya bayran ato iyang previous na sweldo? Dili na basta2x. Miles' relationship with the Blazers went sour after releasing him because of a "career-ending" injury, which was claimed by some doctor in Oregon.

Let's put it this way, naa pay worth $18million bayranan ang Blazers kang Miles. They still even owe Steve Francis $15million after buying out his original contract of $30million. Ouch!

For 08-09, the NBA has a salary cap of $59million, the Blazers have a collective salary of $64million, which is already above the cap. Kung moduwa si Miles then mahimo na ug $72million ang ilang collective salary, mas nitaas nuon ang ilang luxury tax threshold na bayran compared sa $3-4milllion before mo-count kang Miles.

Now, they can negotiate Miles' contract for $8million na lang KUNG mosugot siya. Mo-count gihapon na sa salary cap na kontrata.

Then try nato imo hangyo na bargain price, let's say the Blazers buyout Miles' contract for $2-3million. Okay kaayo na sa Blazers, pero tan-awa ang difference sa numbers:

From 18million to 2-3million para kang Miles. Kadako ana nga diperensya. Di ko mosugot kung kana lang ihatag sa akoa oi after sa ila gibuhat. Makaduwa pa gud si Miles.

It's unfair. But nothing is fair naman. Pero luoy jud si Darius Miles kung i-buyout iya contract at a bargain price.

this makes me wonder. $18M ang contract then buy out lang for about $2-3M or butang ta lang $4-5M the most? what's the point of having a contract in the first place? pamugasa aning Blazers oi. maguba ang career sa usa kaplayer tungod sa ilang pagkahakog. pila pa man intawn na ang edad ni Darius Miles

magabaan gyud na sila, magkacareer ending injury gyud na si Brandon Roy, LaMarcus Aldridge, Steve Blake, ug Greg Oden. and they will face the same problem they're having with Miles.

Simbako sad oi. The thing is, the Blazers have established themselves as the red flag in the NBA right now. They do have the right to sue a team, particularly ang Memphis Grizzlies who signed Darius Miles,27-years old, but they have to understand also how the CBA works.

Balik ta. In March 2008, the Portland Trail Blazers petitioned the NBA and the NBA Players Association to provide an independent doctor to decide if Miles would be able to play again. Following the examination, it was determined that the damage to Miles' knee was severe enough to be classified as career-ending, prompting the Blazers to request waivers for his release on April 14, 2008. However, Miles had the option to sign on with another team if offered a contract.

Under NBA rules, if a team is granted salary-cap relief for a career-ending injury to a player, and then that player participates in at least ten games the next season, the salary cap relief is terminated, and the amount of relief granted is added back to the team's salary cap amount.

If the Blazers will try to sue the team that signed Darius Miles, then they have a lot to worry about and it's gonna cost them a lot.

is this the same case with marbury??

No. The Knicks want to get rid of Marbury. Plain and simple.

Marbury was not waived nor bought out so lahi ra ilang situation ni Darius Miles.

Wala lang untay magbuot who signs who. Lain lain man sad gud ug standard ang per nba team. If the Grizzlies think Miles can help them, so be it. I read somewhere that the Cleveland owner resented the Blzer's threat to sue teams if they try to sign Miles. His point was he doesn't need Miles in his team but then he didn't like the tone of the threatening email sent by the Blazers. Hadlok lang man gud ning Blazers organization maka bayad ug luxury tax. I don't think sad that it is the intention of the Memphis Grizzlies to sabotage Prtland's plan and put them in luxury tax jeopardy.
