what you do is to seclude yourself and listen to this type....especially fusion jazz.
Here are some suggested artist that you can check out and listen.

Larry Carlton, Robben Ford, Norman Brown, Paul Brown, George Benson, Chuck D' Aiola, Jeff Golub, some Lee Ritenour, a little Pat Martino, if you are in the mood to listen to "out" and psynchopated style .... John Scofield.

Study there tone first before you "borrow" ideas from them, so you can enjoy playing it.

nindot sad na nga makat-on sad ka og kanang mga pinaspas para kung magamit nimo og emote...na-a man sad time nga mo gamit ka og pinaspas nga arpeggios.... like Santana....sudden burst.

Check out "Blues for El Salvador" song....Carlos Santana (usa sa mga nindot niya nga blues rock nga kanta)

Just like food you want your food to taste good. People can learn how to cook but still its not a guarantee that people who will eat will enjoy it. Just like music, you want tones of instruments that is enjoyable to listen to. If you can dial really good tones, then you will enjoy playing and making music. With good tone, you can even get inspired to play at a certain way.

OT: my Jason Lollar strat pickups just arrived ...yeheeeeey!!!!

that is sooo true. you can even play with dynamics using hybrid picking....used by lots of blues, jazz, and country players.
