bagtika jud ana mga x-fi oie..
di man kaayo ko into sound so basta ba nice ang on-board, no blemo. hehehe![]()
ako sad. check lng what chipset ako ni-work sa imo mobo. i know realtek 88x-series is already good enough. besides, if gamit ka ug separate sound card, be sure u use good quality speaker system (not speakers lang).
its true na kung separate ang sound processing from the cpu, mo-increase gamay ang fps sa game. but the keyword is gamay, as in GAMAY GYUD. sound processing had never been discussed in deep and detailes as one thing that can burden ure cpu in all its "powerfulness", it this word exist...
the pci & pci-e slot of the sound card won't matter much in performance since they would likely perform virtually the same. the advantage of using a dedicated sound card over the motherboard built-in ones are it would free up cpu load which could be used for other processes, you'll have the added benefit of advanced sound features like EAX (for Creative) or SRS surround sound which if you're a gamer would definitely add an extra "BOOM" to your games. but all those nice features would only go to waste if you'll just use it on a generic speaker set. to truly appreciate this go get a nice speaker system, be it a 2.1, 5.1 or a 7.1 set or a true surround sound head phones. gaming or movies in surround environment is truly a hear-it-to-believe experience.
^ added benefits and features lang ang advantage bro. built-in soundcard is a dedicated soundcard and takes care of the audio processing thus minimizing load on the CPU.

i know it's an added benefit of having a dedicated sound card, but if you're playing games or listening to music with just your built-in sound processor you're missing the whole experience of the game or music. most games nowadays have advanced sound features that would immerse you in their own environments (try playing COD4, Crysis or Fallout 3) and would be to your advantage if you could hear your opponents' footsteps and to which direction he's coming. and in my experience having a dedicated sound card can greatly increase the volume output of your speakers and without the 'hiss' too (to test this try maximizing your pc and speakers volume to hear if it hisses like a snake, this is good test by the way to test the quality of your speaker/sound processor). before i used to turn my speaker's volume knob to 3/4 but now 1/4 would suffice and 1/2 would have my neighbours out for my eviction.
like asus FX II nga sound card (well, not really a built in, but part of the package). also ALC 888c from realtek..
@bytetracker or any expert there....
