holy - 1.specially recognized as or declared sacred by religious use or authority; consecrated: holy ground.
2. dedicated or devoted to the service of God, the church, or religion: a holy man.

with all these being spoken for and against the pope, again it boils down to faith... and faith is very subjective and personal... nobody's wrong for having or lacking faith on something... let logic tell us what is due for him...

U can call God the father "holy father", no one is telling u not to call Him with holy... it is a sign of respect wen u say holy to a person specially wen that person is the vicar of Christ...

we are all HOLY, naa ra na sa tao kung unsa un nila pag gamit nila sa ila pag ka holy...
