As far as I know, wala'y generic ning anti-cervical cancer vaccines ron. Bag-o pa man ni nga gi introduce sa market, so ang brands protected pa by patent for several years. The only available brand in the US at the moment is Gardasil, which is a quadrivalent vaccine, meaning it is effective against the four strains of HPV that most commonly cause cervical cancer. There is another brand available in Australia, but it is only a bivalent vaccine. I think the name is Cervarix. The reason why the vaccine is cheaper is 3rd-world countries, naa man deals gud ang mga companies nga gahimo ani, like Merck, for example. Merck retails Gardasil at a high price in the US, but part of the profits pud, goes into selling the vaccine for cheap, and sometimes for free, in poorer countries...who are most in need of the vaccine anyways.

In the case of Gardasil and Cervarix, YES, protection from cervical cancer CAUSED by the four most common cervical cancer-causing strains of HPV. Take note, NOT ALL cervical cancers are CAUSED by these four strains. So technically, the answer is NO, it is not a guaranteed lifetime protection from getting cervical cancer.
