more than the budget, i guess mas grabe ang problem sa water sourcing. as I remember hinatdan ang Cebu zoo ug tagsa ka trak sa bombero adtung una. If mu dig pud ug deep well.......haaay pwerte kahang lawma kay bukid na man gud na dha. On the bright side...the location is very ideal for breeding birds of high altitude kay taas man cya ug elevation daan and also nice for bats. Budget is also one of the primary concerns although i've heard nga institutions were once suporting the animals (feeds, etc, murag adopt animal project) pero animals continously died and disappeared. Of all the animal facilities i've been to, Crocolandia has the most well kept exhibit though i've never been to lhuillier's farm yet. Try to go through the zoos we have here in Cebu and you'll understand what i mean. Here are the list of the animal facilities nga pwede ninyu adtuan.

The best of Cebu Zoo was showcased when it was housed at Fort San Pedro. Gamay pa ko adto and infact wala pa ko ka eskuela when I saw an elephant, a pair of black bear, den of lion, tigers and gorilla and orang-utan and sea lions. There was also a giraffe, golden marmosets, peacocks and other lots of birds like sarus crane, herons, bulbuls, owls and flamingoes. It was under the care then of the Lamplighters lead by Father Eleuterio Tropa. When Father Tropa died so with the Cebu Zoo and the Lamplighters transferred to Zamboanguita, Negros Oriental.

Yes mao ni ang gibantayan sa una sa mga Lamplighters ni Fr. Tropa. Naka anha mi dinha sa una then natingala mi ngano ang bata nga kuyog namo pwerting hilak. Ang iya diay nga softdrink nga gisulod sa plastic with straw giilog sa nakabuhi nga unggoy. Kuwang gyod sa kaon kay nang snatch na man ang unggoy.

i thought crocolandia are the government offices like LTO, BIR and Bureau of Customs...hehehe

last time i went to cebu zoo was in college and buhi pa c Fr. Tropa ato nga time. lately, i heard nga namalik na pod ubang members niya as volunteers to take care of the zoo but unfortunately, kulang ra jud ang hinabang sa city hall. daghan gusto mo-donate ug mga animals pero ila lang sa daw gibalibaran kay kulang sa funding esp. para sa food sa mga hayop. so it's wise to make donations when we visit there, at least naa poy chance atong mga anak ug mga apo to see what real animals look like, dili lang sa internet ug books...
