more or less the same ra mana ang rates for time deposit. they differ sa initial deposit. if it's extra money, then why not open one? it's a lot better than a regular savings account. or you could get yourself a dollar savings account mas okay pa na but remember bank policy states that it should not remain dormat. ask them how often dapat active imong dollar account. it's a good investment baya. happy saving! that's a good trait keep it up!

    Hi Aimvas,
    Here's my two cents worth.

    1. First, define your goal. What do you want to earn the money for? This will help determine how much you want and when you want to get it.
    2. Determine your timetable. Long time, high risk. Medium time, medium risk. Short time, low risk. For example, if you want to invest for your son's education 15 years from now, invest in the stock market. Same son, money needed in 5 to 7 years? Take the T-bills. Again, same son, money needed in 2-4 years? Time deposit is what you use then.
You need to know what your working on to find out what instrument to use. =)

If it is 20% per annum, it will double your money in 5 years and more better than treasury bills/bonds. hmmmm! I'll check it!
