mg-wonder sad bya ko kng tinuod ba ni pero kng dli ni tinuod den how come ang mga computer manufacturers murelease man ug BIOS updates related to the said problems? so meaning cla mismo kablo sila nga dautan jd ang mga vcard?

  3. #13
so far all the bios updates I am aware of are for laptop G84s and G86s, not the G92s and G94s.

Im no nvidia fanboy but the tone and hostility of the article really smells like sensationalism and BS. Well I guess thats what happens when a hater is a so called journalist.

Nvidia: Proof Nvidia G86 Desktop Graphics Cards Affected by Materials Defects?
The extent of the problems plaguing Nvidia's graphics cards is still controversial, though the company has confirmed that "weak" materials have caused "higher-than-normal" fail rates in certain mobile GPUs, which appear to be the G84 and G86-based graphics cards. The Inquirer said those issues extended to the desktop as well, which Nvidia denied. Interestingly, VR-Zone is reporting that Nvidia has issued a product change notification to customers that they're changing the underfill material for their desktop G86 chips from Namics 8439-1 to Hitachi 3730. Could mean nothing, but since their original problems stemmed from "weak" materials, it stands out. Is there a non-conspiratorial reason they would do this? [VR-Zone]

VR-Zone : Technology Beats - NVIDIA Die Package Problem Might Affect Desktop Parts
Nvidia has posted their first quarterly loss in 5 years and one of the underlying reason is the $200M charge for fixing the die packaging problem on the mobile GPUs. Apparently, this problem might affect certain desktop parts too as Nvidia has recently issued a PCN to their customers informing that they are changing the underfill material for their G86 desktop products from Namics 8439-1 to Hitachi 3730. There might be a chance that this problem could surface on other parts that uses the same underfill material.
