@ jordinho : i havnt heard the the Klipsch 5.1 Ultra yet,..... what made me get a Z5500 is because of the "Digital SoundTouch™ Control Center",...... the sound quality,.... and also coz of the way it looks,.... it looks way better thn the Klipsch,...
b4 i bought this speaker's,.... i read alot of article's,.... bought alot of computer magazine,......
in one magazine,..... they gave the Logi-Tech Z5500 the "EXTREME TECH" choice of the month [Computer Gaming World : June 2005 : issue # 252]

Let me share what i know. The creative X-Fi Sound cards are the best they could ever be. They have built in hardware decoders in itl. So in my opinion, you don't need an external decoder for you speaker system unless you intend to connect an XBOX or Playstation to it.

Yes the Klipsche Pro Media 5.1 and the Logitech z5500 are about the same price. But take note that Klipche Pro Media does not have the hardware decoders (dolby n etc) built into it w/c means you'll be paying 20K++ for speakers alone (rule of thumb, the more expensive, the better quality). With the Logitech you pay 20k++ w/c includes the decders so the cost of the speakers alone might be around 15K++ only. With the z5500 you'll be paying for features that are already built in into you very expensive X-Fi sound card such that you'll either end up disabling your hardware decoder in the speaker or disabling hardware decoder in your sound card.

Based on my experience, I have owned a Kllipche Pro Media 2.1 and a Logitech z680. I still marvel at the sound of the Klipche! (crisp highs, clear mids and solid base!!!) although dili lng cya 5.1 but the soud quality is superb! The only downside I know of the klipche is dali ra ma gupok ang cone lining kay foam man iya gamit. Wen mine broke, i had the cone lining replaced with a rubber one sa ACDC for P100.00 and now its working and sounding perfectly well again.

If I were in your shoes, i'd go for the Klipche But, opinion ra ni Hope this info helps you.

@cholocoy even i got teh z5500 hehehe it was so cheap i had to get it over teh klipschs. (190 with coupons)

@Earlz sound quality wise hands down klipsch imho. your getting an xfi supposedly right? so probably klipsch would be a better buy for you.

i wouldn't be surprised if the "Klipsch" speakers would sound better thn the "Logi-Tech Z5500",.....

even though we have "Bose Acoustimass 10" for our Home Entertainment System,....... i would rather want / i would Choose "Klipsch Reference Series" over the "Bose Acoustimass"

i'v heard both of the brands,...... but i give "Klipsch Reference Series" the upper hand,....

Il be using it mainly for PC gaming and Music no plans to connect any console to it since im not really a console guy.
Yes im planning to get a Creative X-Fi Music. so Klipsch has no Digital Decoders but the X-Fi can do the job right ?
