There are no known Sikaran clubs here in Cebu as of the moment. I have to travel to Baras just to train. But im really interested to help establish a sikaran school here. Maybe we could invite an instructor from Baras in the near future. or maybe if i could already reach a level where i am competent enough to teach, then maybe we could open a core group here...

their are things that could never be destroyed by differences in affeliations... and one of this is genuine friendship... i will be boing home to ormoc city to train with my old friend ( rommel gonzales).. a sikaran silver medallist in the last years nationals.. but the catch is that we belong to separate organizations... but still we are very much excited to train together just like the good old days..hehehe

Sikaran was featured in last Fridays Emergency over at GMA 7. The show was about thr risk of sports like Sikaran. I would agree that there are risk involve in all sports, even in sports without contact, much more in martial arts. but i also believe that it is the duty of the instructors to make sure that the inherent dangers are reduced so that practitioners are protected from unnecesary dangers. By the way, it was Meliton Geronimos group that was featured. The next day, our group, the Global Sikaran Federation was also featured in the TFC Channel... hope this would prop up again the interest in Sikaran...

Our Chief Instructor, Sir Osi Banaag recently got inducted into the US Martial Arts Hall of Fame. This is something we Filipinos should be proud of...

This August, there will be an international officiating seminar in Manila. this is in preparation for the 1st Sikaran World Gold Cup which will be held in *****g, Rizal from January 4-5, 2007.

Cebu might be sending a small but lean squad to the said event. a core group is already formed and is starting to practice the rudiments of this art and sport....

informally, yes. however i am waiting for a full authority to coach from the world headquarters in baras. hopefully, ill be able to get it this June. once ill have it, training will commence full scale.. and hopefully we can build a team to represent cebu this january... for those who have the heart and love for Sikaran.. txt me at 09198087624..
