    regarding the xampp.. there is also alternative way the wampp, now, if you really want to learn how to configure then just try to installl it one by one. If you can work it then that would be great.

    Yep, two days ago... I've already installed the ff.:
    - MySQL5
    - Apache 1.2
    - PHP 4.8

    and it's nice, I've tried PHP 5 but it didn't work with apache 1.2 module, so I looked for other lower versions of PHP
    Pero I've read a book na the ff. services mentioned above works best with Linux platform because the ff. services was made via Linux platform.

    if ganahan kag portable imong apache+php+mysql try sa xampplite bay.... ang version niya kay 5 na pud....

    Blank pages usually mean there are errors and PHP isn't set to display those errors.
