Default Red Hat Enterprise Linux for Free? Here's How...

What I mean also is that ... what kind of support are you looking for , coz its not about how many, i think its about how much can you afford for a support ... rather than liscence + support

Linux "support" comes in many forms. Some of the best support comes in the free online forums all over the internet. The support is so good that Infoworld actually "awarded" the forums in general. It's good, fast, and FREE.

In the Philippines, you can check out the Philippine Linux Users Group mailing lists. They are excellent. Sometimes you get an answer to your problems in less than anhour. And the answers can be very detailed too if you give all the information needed to analyze your problem. Try doing that with Microsoft support!

Computer Training Labs in Cebu also offers some Linux support for a small price. We can do email servers, fileservers, OS installation, office productivity applications, and general system administration. Call 254-4004 and look for me.

free ra man gyud na ang linux ba.. miski sa CD gani dli man ka obligado mobayad.. asa mo ngita ana.. hehe.. kaso lang kung dli mo ganahan mogasto para sa cd, ma-download man ninyo ang miski unsang linux distro sa net... kana kung naa mo igo nga pasensya nga mo download.. (sa colon naay tag 100 per cd, red hat linux, 3 cds , version 9 (shrike), nakapalit ko last year, kabantay pa ko ron - naa pa) wala man gud ko panahon ug igo nga bandwidth para madownload ug dinalian ang distro maong nag mantinir nalang kug shrike last year miski dugay ra nigawas ang fedora core

pero siguradoa lang nga dli tainted ang linux distro nga inyong ma download.. lisod na kung trojanized na ang daemons lol.. for clean copies of linux distros try this site.. most linux users download their distros thru this site http://www.linuxiso.org/ miski ang mga pirata sa colon dira cguro kuha ug kopya.. tsk tsk mahal ra ba kaau.. tag diyes pesos ra baya ng generic nga cd.. nya singko ang sudlanan.. 35 ang total.. nya plus ang cover? tag 20? so 55 tanan? nya gibaligya nila ug 300? pirata gyud.. heheh wa cguro kabalo nga free ra na ilang gibaligya sa colon...

for beginners, try the knoppix distro.. kung feel na gani ninyo mo dive in sa linux try mandrake o di ba fedora.. sayon ra i install.. ok pud ang debian... nya kung sweto na gani mo.. balhin na ug slackware... pero kamo na gud bahala kung unsa nga distro inyong gusto.. parehas ra man tanan ba.. linux ghapon ang kernel.. lahi lahi lang kung unsay level of expertise ang kinghanlan para magamit ug tarong ang operating system..

Does CentOS get unresponsive around an hour after you start using it?

If it does, that's probably because it's running some scheduled housekeeping programs in the background. It is updating some internal databases and checking on the system logs. This lasts only a few minutes but is VERY heavy on the processor. so sometimes the mouse becomes unresponsive. It goes away after a few minutes and won't happen again until the next day.

If you know how to edit the system cron tables, you can change how often this happens.

Also, the system has crontabs in /etc/cron.hourly, /etc/cron.daily, /etc/cron.weekly, /etc/cron.monthly. Those are set up by the Red Hat guys and are meanto to simplify things. Instead of creating a crontab, you just copy a shell script into those directories and they will be run by the run-parts script.
