You get to pass by San Juanico bridge.

Problem is the roads in Samar is terrible.

dli cxa expensive bro kung daghan mo.. we have done this before sa amo family. lingaw sad cxa kay new places and inyu ma ad2. abot gani mi Baguio. try to check sa internet and bring map gyud. i suggest katong easy map kay naa mga street updates like one ways and no entries.

Sakay mo roro boat to ormoc 6hrs, landtrip na to ormoc-tacloban 2-3 hrs, tacloban-samar, catbalogan 2-3 hrs to catbalogan-calbayog 2-3 hrs, pa allen northern samar depend sa inyo speed i think 2 hrs pud, then sakay nasad mo sa allen to matnog soraogon ug roro 1-2 hours ra paglabang swerte ug makasakay mo dayun pero if dli ting uli dali ra makasakay inyo sakyanan, ug long drive na sad from sorsogon to manila, 10-12 hours lang hahaha manila na! Nindot ug magcge mog stop over para dili ra mo makafeel kaau sa kakapoy. So far, ok ang road karon sa samar, naa lang tingali mga repairs na ginagmay.. Nice if 2 inyo driver na magpuli ug drive. Enjoy!

1st route: Cebu->Bogo RORO->Palompon->Tacloban->Allen Samar->RORO->Matnog->Lucena->Manila

2nd route: Cebu->Danao RORO->Isabel->Palompon->Tacloban->Samar->RORO->Matnog->MAnila

Samar roads are okay except for a 5-10km minor road potholes from San Isidro Port going to Calbayog. Fastcat RORO is already available and now takes only 1hr to Matnog from San Isidro vv. Car ticket is almost 1.5k. Danao to Isabel RORO is 4hrs.

All travel time are approximate and depends on a lot of factors.

1. Drive to Bogo, northern Cebu - 3hrs
2. Roro from Bogo to Cawayan, or Cataingan, Masbate - 5 hrs
3. Drive from Cawayan or Cataingan to Masbate City - 3 hrs
4. Roro from Masbate City to Sorsogon - 3 hrs
5. Drive from Sorsogon to Manila - 10 hrs

It's not easy. Its time consuming, It requires a lot of energy, and it's expensive.

Easiest would be to fly.

If you really want to experience land trip. Just leave the car and hop on a bus.
There is a daily airconditioned bus from Cebu to Manila vice versa. Name of the bus is Rorobus and it leaves the Cebu North Bus terminal every 7PM. Takes the same route as mentioned above.
