    here's a QUICK THOROUGH research i did -

indeed Palinpinon 2 did supplement, some part of cebu, it supplements CEBECO (so far thats the information ive got had to twist some legs to get more info but thats another story) after the leyte plant 2 issue couple years ago.

so whats wrong here? this guy makes it sound like we are too dependednt with them when they are only supplementing us, Palinpinon 2 supplies CEBECO that means the power we used here at the city are not even from them (again i could be wrong but this my last post dili nako mo reply)

here's an abstract summary about it from WorldBank

The objective of the Nasulo Geothermal Power Project for Philippines is to help mitigate global climate change by facilitating the use of market-based mechanisms sanctioned under the Kyoto protocol through support to clean energy projects in the Philippines. The project components include: the project is located in the Second Palinpinon geothermal production fields in the Southern part of Negros Island, central Philippines. The Second Palinpinon field already supports existing power plants (totaling 80 MW) owned and operated by the National Power Corporation (NPC). The project will 'optimize' reservoir utilization within Second Palinpinon by tapping excess steam for additional power generation capacity amounting to 20 MW. The new power plant, to be owned and operated by Philippine National Oil Corporation-Energy Development Corporation (PNOC-EDC), will contribute to meeting the growth in energy demand in the Visayas grid over the medium and longer term. The project comprises: (1) development of a 20 MW geothermal field, including the drilling of 1 production well, and re-injection wells, as well as the construction of the corresponding fluid collection and re-injection system (FCRS); (2) construction, installation and commissioning of a 1 x 20 geothermal power plant with H2S gas abatement facility; and (3) construction of a switching station in Nasuji to connect to NPC's 138 kV transmission line. Once the power plant is operational, power sales are estimated at about 150 GWh annually.

i just hope you wont make it sound exagereted like we are too independent sa inyoha, remember you are just contributing/suplementing and entirely supplying that is two different story, BE SPECIFC so you wont promotes mis information

Note: This is how you references and not from wikipedia

cebu's energy demand is too high that means we are very progressive the increase in demand is a clear sign of fast development of industry.

this will be my last post diri too much regionalism, im just trying to set the information clearly stated from my previous post that i could be wrong so im open to new information as long as it from a credible source and not some opensource encyclopedia where a stupid person with an account can add his own article.

cebu and negor compliment's each other and it should remain that way... negros give us leon kilat we give them activists/npa (sad but true since wala nay insurgency diri sa cebu so we are exporting na didto unless nibalik na sila but so far mao nay sulti sa nag attempt ug recruit sa akoa sauna)

it is obviously dumaguete and cebu city are worlds apart in terms of economic and development, its like dumaguete is like cebu before... if we talked about poverty mag depende ra sad na unsa nga progressive ang usa ka lugar kung taas and development meaning taas ang manpower needs.

i had made a thread before about regulating domestic migration because when people from the rural transfered here in the city there either stay here permanently and add to the population of the local or they just work here and leave later on.

the problem is this domestic migrants are somewhat competing with native locals na... in terms of space and sometimes benefits from LGU...

if anyone remember lito osmena's program before nga PROMDI o Probinsya muna development initiative, and resulta BALAMBAN SHIP BUILDING INDUSTRY before people would have to flock here in mactan at keppel shipyard and some smallscale shipbuilding in mandaue... BALAMBAN is so progressive because of building the industry closer to the center they move to the rural where there is large space and plenty of cheap manpower.... remember manpower rate are based from location and industry

even 1st world country have their own poverty issue and yet there are not able to solved unless we are as reach as those oil producing country

job generation rest on our local exec, and somewhat some of our laws are prohibiting it or regulating it, investor would have to think twice here in investing

poverty is caused by many aspect, even how big the area is contributes it... if the local/national execs can provide all the people in the area ther will always be a poverty issue...

for me poverty is a state of mind, if you are positive enough and witty enough to alleviate the condition of oneself/family then its not possible to get out from poverty...

the most comment issue among those people in/under poverty line (as what ive observe there is more this is what i came up today)
    1) Too independent on the govt to help them
    2) Uneducation
    3) Laziness
    4) Stupidity
    5) Too much faith on and institution that doesnt even help them

    last na jud ni...

undanga na taning regionalism nga mentallity... to walker/par-orwhateveryournameisdontcare palihug lang ayaw mo pinareha sa ubang taga manila nga grabe ka regionalize ang ila huna2x if dumaguete is last on the last good for your city, but dont make it sound like grabe na ka progressive nga kaming diri sa cebu very dependent na... no misinformation palihug lang, this two city are my home... im not siding anyone....
