warning: this post (understood to be in a photography forum) contains nudity. VIEWER DISCRETION IS ADVISED

these raw images are "borrowed" from somewhere in the internet (kay wa pa ko budget to shoot with models ila mark). the purpose of which is to show ther results of adding texture to a photo

tip: open image in photoshop. then open another image of a texture. paste this texture image on to the first image (as a new layer) then choose overlay - thats it! (ang uban details kamo na lang bahala muadjust)

it doesnt mean that all the time we edit images that it should look different na. sometimes the most difficult to manage are ordinary images to be used in commercial or promotional outputs. it is here that we need to enhance in a way that it must not look out-of-this-world but still pleasing enough to capture its target market.

this example is one of the images for a tour brochure:

11 hours roundtrip travel and 3 hours to shoot in late afternoon light. took more than 400 images and used 3. 17 layers in photoshop, 4 softwares (cs3 + 3 others) and mga 1.5 hours work (for this image lang). shot raw with a 400d, 87mm at f/5.6, 1/160s. the left image is the unedited then the final output at the middle. the third image (a detail crop) is to show you to be mindful of your image quality during editing and proccesing. it is of great importance to preserve sharpness and clarity all throughout the process.

    Deep of Field Effect

    1. Open image or create new in your desired sized and palce some image or photo..

    2. Duplicate image for new layer ( goto layers ang drag image to the new layer icon or "Ctrl + J").... why this is to back up the original image for safe changes...

    3. drop out or trace your subject with a layer vector mask, Use any tools like eraser, laso tool and pen tool.. see example image

    >>4. Reduplicate your original image for the blur surface ( add blur on it....>>> goto Filter-Blur-Gaussian Blur, a pop up window will show up an input it with desired value... my sample is 7)

    >>5. now add a vectormask on the blured layer, this will create the Deep of Field Effect...( Press D to restore default color// and add gradient with gradient tool on the Mask, make sure that the mask is selected, click the mask square in the layer < F7 >) note black color is used..

    >>6. add layer effect ( goto layer menu .... Layer - New Adjustment Layer - Poto Filter.... name it and enter.... drop down menu and use any you like for your design, in my sample i used Cooling Filter (80)........) and bring the filter layer to the to of all layer by draging the layer to the top...
