SALAMAT and three other players of Ateneo are graduating this school year. We will just wait for next year...if Tallo will have the playing time...but i am confident that Coach Black knows that he will be needing tallo in his team.

i read this article....it seems that the young Tallo is confirm to be in the line up of ateneo next year. Dako gyud og salig ang ateneo kang tallo. and Ravena will be still in ateneo as Coach Norman Black conversation with Mike abasolo.

magdaog gyud tinuod sa position..pero as the atenenista said so...talent wise ang naa ni tallo . Naimpress na si Coach Norman niya..so kailangan ipakita niya ang iya performance kada praktis niya ateneo. Kay si ravena ra man ang nakit an nila personally...

I've mentioned this in another thread, Tallo has the tools to be a standout in the UAAP. And since it's apparent that he's going to be playing for Ateneo, that's another thing that he has going for him because IMO the current system Ateneo plays in will be a good fit for him. But let's not over-hype him kay ma-disappoint ra nya ta. As it is, the team still has holdover guards Monfort and Juami Tiongson (who barely even saw minutes this season). If Ravena stays in Katipunan, then he's another guy who will compete with Tallo for minutes. It doesn't really matter that all of those guys play "differently" because Ateneo does not really need "pure" PGs. Look at Monfort, he's more of a SG stuck in a PG's body but then he was still productive under the system as the ball-handler. Kirk Long and even Buenafe sometimes are tasked to bring up the ball. In short, they're all guards who can bring the ball up and shoot, and it will be Black's discretion on who he will give minutes to. I'm not hating on Tallo, all I'm saying is let's just wait and see.

Also, while Tallo is a pure talent, I will have to disagree that he is better than Ravena. Sayon ra kaayo i-sulti nga mas maayo si Tallo kay siya man inyong pirmi ma-kit.an, pero if you see Ravena on the regular, kuyaw kaayo siya oi. And no disrespect to our Cebu HS players, but Ravena faces stiffer (as in bigger and even older) competition in Manila. Tallo has the potential, but let's not expect it to be a given that he will flourish. Remember Kevin Alas a few years ago? He was scorching the hoops while in HS, 30+ points were no sweat. But as of right now, 2 years into college, he has not yet translated that high-scoring act into the NCAA. Mas successful pa si Jarelan Tampus (bisaya sad daw, taga-Mandaue) who kept a lower profile. Again, let's wait and see. Let's just hope for the best for Tallo. Para lang dili nato siya ma-jinx.

BTW, to the guy who posted the projected lineup for next year, you forgot Oping Sumalinog.

oh yes..oping sumalinog will play next year for ateneo..another cebuano. Ravena even not sure if he will stay in ADMU. Like I said before..tallo and ravena are good players. They have skills and abilities in terms of basketball. But i will agree..we need to wait and see...what tallo can do in katipunan next year...
