Tobi's Identity Discussion

Tobi = Izuna.

Firstly, why is Tobi not Madara?:

Madara, upon his revival, never even used a single teleport and "transparency" technique which is Tobi's signature move.

Why not Obito?:

This theory is quite stupid, clearly just basing by the relevance of Kamui and Tobi's warp's "twirling" motion and their names. First, Obito is too young to be knowledgeable about the Uchihas, he's just 1 generation ahead of Naruto. Second, Obito's chakra is obviously low compared to Tobi. Third, Tobi is palpably old due to his wrinkling in his face just like Danzo's, well we couldn't expect Obito to have wrinkles if he's same age as Kakashi.

Why is he Izuna?:

It was thought that Izuna was of same caliber as Madara. When Madara's eyes went blind like Sasuke, Izuna willingly gave his eyes. He then fought some battles until he died due apparently to the losing of his Sharingan eyes, which gravely decreased his power.

Izuna was thought to be of same caliber as Madara. They were the first two ninja to obtain Mangekyo sharingan.

When Madara took his eyes, he gained EMS w/c further evolved into the eyes of the sage w/c is the Rinnegan in his final moments in his battle w/ the 1st Hokage.

1st Evidence which compelled me in this theory:

Look up Naruto chapter Removed by moderator upon Madara's revival. Look up on Madara's first lines. " This is something he would do.", "He was able to revive me like this". Also on Kabuto's line "Im his supporter", the "he" and "his" is obviously reffering to the same antecedent w/c is Tobi.

Ok basing from those, obviously he knows Tobi. But Tobi only recently appeared decades after Madara died, nearly the time of the 4th Hokage so he couldn't have known Tobi. So, obviously, it is not Tobi the masked man who he knows, but the man behind the facade also known as Tobi.

Madara couldn't have known Kabuto or Orochimaru. It will be quite foolish if he was referring to the 2nd Hokage(it was said that he was the developer of the Edo Tensei, although. . . .) since he was long dead and would not plan for something like Great Shinobi War. The people who could've possibly planned and who he knows is the 1st and 2nd Hokage and his brother. It would be stupid to include other people beside them non-relative to the Uchihas and Senjus at their time.

Yes, we can say that Izuna actually died but he didn't die right away after his eyes were taken.( We can notice that every time tobi get's his limb of there some sort of "foam" instead of blood and after few moments it regenerates, therefore we can assume this is a jutsu like, if not, Edo Tensei) At this time he and Madara might have prepared something like Edo Tensei (at their time, Edo tensei must have only been in development and at its prime until was labeled kinjutsu by its developer, Tobirama). At page 2 of 560 we can also see Madara noticing right away, and surely, that he knows he was revived by Edo Tensei(he could've been revived by other technique, possibly) and knowing about Edo Tensei's telekinetic properties, he's obviously familiar about it.

2nd Evidence and stronger evidence:

Tobi said that Nagato was the 3rd person to have Rinnegan. The first is the Sage, second is Madara(w/c we just recently known), then Nagato.
And Tobi also said that he originally owns those eyes.

So you might be saying at this moment "if Madara owned the 2nd eye, then it should have belonged to him not to Izuna, therefore it is madara who is Tobi". OK remember that Madara's own eyes are actually blinded? and that it is actually Izuna's own eyes w/c developed into Eternal Mangekyo and Rinnegan in Madara's body? So technically, it is actually Izuna who owned the eyes, not Madara.

Having no other known person who has Rinnegan besides the sage, nagato and madara, Kishi gave us a hint who really Tobi is if we just analyze the lines more.

my money would be on izuna or kagami uchiha. both have different but valid proofs to be tobi. incidentally, i read narutopedia recently, and the physical stats (height and weight) of izuna and tobi are very similar. coincidence?
